The American flag is an integral part of our nation’s history. The flag serves as a symbol of freedom, dignity, honor and the story of America itself. It represents our pride in the United States and in being American. It represents our country’s diversity and inclusion. It represents FREEDOM to the rest of the world. Likely the most recognized symbols on the planet, it has been with us in war, both in victory and in defeat. It has been to the moon and reminds us of triumphs and our dreams. The American flag is so significant, so sacred, men and women have sacrificed their very lives, for generations, defending it and what it represents.
Recently, men and women who are essential workers have sacrificed their lives during the Covid-19 pandemic to care for their fellow Americans who are affected by this disease. They too are true American heroes. So it is with both humility, and pride, that Arcadia Rotary honors our flag and those who’ve made sacrifices for it by creating a tribute of 1,000 flags for the entire world to see. This year year we will be able to physically display the flags to visit, walk amongst, remember those we’ve lost, and honor those who’ve served, we can share our appreciation of them by sponsoring a flag in their honor.
Please join us by sponsoring your hero whether it be someone who served in the armed forces, police force or fire department, hospitals, postal workers, trash collectors and grocery store workers.
Welcome to the 7th annual Field of Honor. We have committees that have been working since last year on the Field of Honor to raise money for our philanthropic programs.
One-third of the net proceeds will go towards a partnership with Habitat for Humanity building homes for Veterans. The other two thirds will go to such programs as teacher mini grants, honoring teachers and students of the month, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, the Boys and Girls Club, the eradication of polio worldwide and many other programs.
We appreciate and thank you for your support and God Bless America!
